Whether you come by car, by bike, as a family, as a couple or with friends, … You are bound to find an activity that will please you !
Here are some of our favorite historical places to visit :


          Le parcours patrimoine et l'amphithéâtre Gallo-Romain de Gennes

The archaeological excavations carried out here from around the years 1860-1880 show the existence of an important Gallo-Roman agglomeration of the first century of our era. Some monuments and facilities are the subject of specific research that you can discover throughout a route on foot or by bike in the city.

          Château de Montreuil-Bellay

You can visit the exterior as well as the interior of the castle. The interior visit is a 55-minutes long guided walk through history. You can discover the gardens, suspended above the Thouet as if by magic, without accompaniment. Many other castles are to be visited on the banks of the Loire such as the castles of Saumur, Angers, Montsoreau, Brézé, Brissac, …

          Troglodyte : L'hélice terrestre à Saint-George-des-Sept-Voies

This troglodyte site is a place to visit but it also hosts exhibitions and concerts. Visit this work composed of two simultaneous works : one was entirely dug in the rock ; the other modeled and molded in the open air.

          Le village du Thoureil

Visit the village which has a rich historical and architectural heritage, earning it a « Small City of Character » label. It is a Loire landscape on the banks of the river, emblematic of the Loire Valley, listed as a Unesco Site.

          Le village de Chênhutte-Trêves-Cunault

You can also discover this village, the town is rich in tourist attractions, which also made it worth to be called « Small City of Character » and « Village of Charm ». The town has Gallo-Roman remains, including the temple of Villiers, and the house of Fouchardière. There is a whole discovery heritage trail in the city, enough to make it a good walk of history !

          La Prieurale de Cunault

Finally, and more specifically in the village mentioned above, visit the priory. The building is famous for its 223 sculpted capitals and its mural paintings which make it a real artistic treasure.
