The Saut aux Loups : the temple du champignon - 2
From the cave and on to the plate! Set in the hillside facing the Loire, the Saut aux Loups combines a site to visit and a troglodyte restaurant.
Take a tour of the mushroom galleries which have been in production for over a century (1 hour). Then, in the restaurant, you can taste the famous “galipettes” (stuffed mushrooms) and other specialities based on mushrooms!

Brézé : Le Monde Souterrain - 7
Classified as a historical monument and located 10 km from Saumur in France, the "Château de Brézé" welcomes you to its architectural wonders, and to its unique underground tunnels cut into the tufa.
Considered one of the most intriguing castles of the Loire, partly due to its underground fortress, discovering the castle's history will allow you to understand the bond some of the Kings of France had with it.

In the heart of the Loire Valley, part of the UNESCO world heritage, Bouvet-Ladubay, Brut de Loire in Saumur in their kilometers of underground galleries excavated in the "Tuffeau" calciary stone.
Since its acquisition of the brand in 1932 by Justin Marcel Monmousseau, the same family has given a naturally artistic dimension to the company for all wine lovers.
To this day, more than 500 medals and awards have confirmed the quality of our wines.
The Bouvet Ladubay cellars are open all year round for visits, wine tasting and discovering all the steps to producing the sparkling wines through the "Methode Traditionnelle" winemaking process.

Le Musée du Champignon au cœur de nos cultures - 14
This site is dedicated to the fascinating world of wild and cultivated mushrooms. Through the galleries dug into the tuffeau you can explore the secrets of cultivation in an amazing atmosphere. 12 tons of mushrooms are harvested every year here: button, oyster, shiitake, blue-stem and other exotic mushrooms. L’Hélice Terrestre en Troglodytes - 18
A vast and surprising sculpture, born from the encounter of the artist Jacques Warminski with the world of troglodytes. It is a composition of two simultaneous spaces: one entirely excavated into the rock, the other shaped and moulded in the open. The tour is a unique experience as the visitor moves in and around the work itself.

Jacky Roulleau, mushroom grower and storyteller, welcomes you into his 16th century troglodytic dwelling where button and wood mushrooms are cultivated. A slideshow and several representations tell the story of the cellar, the geology of tuff eau, marine fossils, troglodytic habitations and local history.
